 What's New for the 2018 Toyota C-HR?

Totally new for the American market, the 2018 Toyota C-HR impresses with its bold and aggressive exterior that are available in nine color combinations, including R-Code versions that pair a white roof with a body in Radiant Green Mica, Ruby Flare Pearl, or Blue Eclipse Metallic. Two trims are available: the entry-level XLE and the upper-level XLE Premium. Both use a 2.0-liter Double Overhead Cam 4-cylinder with Valvematic and Front-Wheel Drive that generates up to 144 horsepower at 6,100 RPM and 139 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,900 RPM. Easing handling is Electric Power Steering while every ride remains smooth, thanks to independent MacPherson strut font suspension and a double-wishbone rear suspension, both with coil springs, a stabilizer bar, and hydraulic shock absorbers with SACHS dampers. Three modes on the XLE trim let your define every drive as Sporty for sharper handling, Eco for better fuel economy, or Normal to combine efficiency and power. The Continuously Variable Transmission with intelligence lets you choose D if you want it to pick the best gears automatically. If you prefer, choose Sequential Shiftmatic Mode and you can manually shift among seven gears. Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control keeps you at a safe distance from the car in front at the speed you set. When traffic decelerates and accelerates, so does your C-HR automatically.

Inside, you're surrounded by such premium touches as a leather-trimmed soft-touch steering wheel and a shift knob with satin plate. Dual-zone automatic climate control ensures that you and your front passenger can create your own comfort levels that are automatically maintained to compensate for changes in outside weather. So you can keep warm during winter, the XLE Premium comes with front bucket seats that build in heating. When you need to carry more than the expansive rear cargo area already provides, just fold down the standard 60/40-split rear seats. Pull into reverse and the standard auto-dimming rearview mirror displays a real-time image of what's behind you form the integrated backup camera. Grid lines help you estimate distance to obstacles and your rearward path. Available Rear Cross-Traffic Alert warns you of any vehicles that are crossing behind you. When you go forward, the available Blind Spot Monitor alerts you to vehicles that have entered your blind zone. Your 2018 Toyota C-HR comes with the Star Safety System?, which integrates safety technologies so you avoid accidents. But if a collision does occur, you-re protected by a rigid body that is forged from advanced high-tensile-strength steel. Up to ten airbags can deploy to protect all riders including ones for the driver's knee, and mounted on the sides of the front and rear rows.
