Toyota Plays a Big Part in “National Youth of the Year” Celebration
Since 2007, Toyota has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to support children in need. They’ve awarded over $2.4 million in academic scholarships and supported other initiatives.
Recently, Toyota was in attendance as a sponsor at the charity’s “National Youth of the Year” celebration, awarding a new Toyota Corolla to the 2022-2023 National Youth of the Year award recipient, Asha H-R. Hailed for her leadership, volunteering, and advocacy work, she served meals to over 400 families a week, which was a big reason why she won the award.
In addition to the Corolla provided to Asha, Toyota will continue to provide vehicles to recipients of this award. Additionally, Toyota will provide financial assistance for vehicle-related expenses. Kohl’s, another major sponsor of this award and program, will give the winners a shopping experience designed to set them up for life after the Boys & Girls Club.
More About the Partnership Between Toyota & the Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Toyota is one of the founding sponsors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Workforce Readiness Strategy, which assists in helping children develop necessary life skills, career exploration, and work-based learning opportunities. Toyota, through the T-TEN (Technician Training Education Network), provides career exploration opportunities to different community colleges and vocational schools.
Additionally, Toyota teaches aspiring technicians and is working to provide a version of this program to Boys & Girls Clubs across the country and community partners.
