What's New for the 2017 Toyota Highlander?

The 2017 Toyota Highlander continues the long standing record of excellence that is expected from Toyota, and specifically, from the Highlander. Each year, Toyota makes the best vehicles possible. Some years, vehicles undergo dramatic changes. Other years. More subtle updates can be made. The 2017 updates are the first big ones for the Highlander since its redesign in 2014.

The 2017 Highlander underwent significant updates to the exterior, interior and to the performance packages. Each update was designed to enhance the safety and style of the driving experience. The larger, stylish grill and redesigned headlights add to the look of the vehicle. Reaching almost to the bumper, the black grill adds to the tough exterior look. The rear lights also were redesigned to add to the updated look. In an effort to add flexibility for the driver and passengers, the Highlander Limited and Limited Platinum offer an 8-passenger option utilizing a bench-style second row instead of the standard captains' seats. The Highlander SE now comes with enhanced interior trim to round out a great option. The 2017 Toyota Highlander gains in the power department. The V6 engine has been upgraded with 295 horsepower and 263 pound per foot of torque. The accompanying fuel economy is a plus for drivers with 27 highway and 21 city miles per gallon on the front wheel drive models. The 2017 also features a new optional auto stop and start system and an 8-speed automatic transmission. These upgrades are sure to be attractive. The Toyota Safety Sense technology is now standard on all 2017 Highlanders. This highly valued technology features several accident avoidance measures including an automatic braking system that detects pedestrians as well as cars and a forward collision warning.
