When living in a densely populated area, one key skill that is necessary for your traveling purposes is parallel parking. The majority of places you will go in the city will require you parallel park, or pay a bit of a ridiculous rate to park in a garage. It can be intimidating, but will save you both time and money in the long run. So why wait to learn?

What to look for:

A space that is a few feet longer than your car. If you are not very comfortable with parallel parking, aim for an extra 5 feet of gap space to help give you room to back your car in.

What to do:

More than likely a car will be waiting behind you, put on your blinker to give a warning that you are going to be parking there. Try to put on your signal before you approach the spot to give a tailing car more time to stop and slow down.
