 What's New for the 2018 Toyota Camry?

Toyota finally unveils the eighth production cycle of the Camry with the 2018 model year. For the past 15 years, the Camry has been among the best-selling midsize sedans in the market, and it has grown even more popular by combining a reputation for reliability, safety, engineering superiority with a blossoming attention to sportiness and driving excitement. And the 2018 Toyota Camry intends on continuing this new direction. The new vehicle is available in LE, XLE, SE, and XSE trims. The SE and XSE are the sport-oriented variants: with a racing-style exterior that involves a rear spoiler lip, sculpted rocker panel, aggressively styled bumpers (with the rear one integrating a lower diffuser), large side intakes that flank the lower bumper, and a mesh grille. A set of 19-inch black machined-finish alloy wheels are installed on the XSE.

The 2018 Toyota Camry is powered by one of two engines. The A25A-FKS is a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder, while the 2GR-FKS is a 3.5-liter V6. Each one is hitched to an 8-speed automatic transmission. If you go with the SE trim level (i.e., SE and XSE), Toyota adds paddle shifters to activate a more exciting, sportier ride. For entertainment, Toyota introduces the latest generation of its infotainment integration technology called Entune 3.0. The multimedia system includes Remote Connect for remote start and door lock capability (among other functions) and Connected Navigation Scout GPS Link with Moving Maps for phone-driven navigation. The V6 models get an additional Dynamic Navigation system for improved map accuracy. And there's the available Service Connect for up-to-date vehicle information, WiFi Connect to allow up to five mobile devices to browse the Internet at 4G LTE speeds, and a nine-speaker JBL audio system with a 10.1-inch subwoofer for premium entertainment and sound quality. The 2018 Camry has 10 standard air bags, which consists of dual front impact airbags, dual front seat-mounted side impact airbags, two front knee airbags, and dual front and dual rear side curtains for head protection. Other standard safety features include vehicle stability control, traction control, all-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist, smart stop technology, a rearview camera, pre-collision ability with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, and automatic high beams. Upper-level trims also come with a blind spot monitor system with rear cross-traffic alert.
